Selina Chu, pianist,
has enjoyed an active teaching and performing career for over thirty years. It has been her privilege to work with piano students of all ages and levels, to develop individual, expressive music-making, and to promote technical ease and a secure understanding of style and structure.   Much in demand as an adjudicator and visiting artist, Selina is known for her sense of humor and creative approach to learning and performing.

Selina has served as an adjudicator and master teacher in Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Minnesota, for MTNA and NFMC (Music Teachers National Association and National Federation of Music Clubs).    She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Washington, a Master of Music from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, and permanent National Certification from MTNA.  She is past-president of Lake Washington Chapter, MTNA and of Sammamish Music Club (NFMC), and continues active service on their Boards.

During her association with Alaska Dance Theatre as their Principal Accompanist, Selina developed a lifelong interest in the expressive relationships between movement and music.   She still has a passion for all kinds of collaborative ensembles, and performs under the auspices of Seattle Ladies Musical Club with violinist Ann Rackl, and also with her cellist brother in the Rackl-Chu-Chu Trio.
