About MeI am a lifelong musician and have always loved to teach and perform. Solo playing was a large part of my early career. I have a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in piano performance, from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati and the University of Washington. I also hold national certification as a teacher of music, through MTNA. In the last 50 years I learned to play well with others, and have a passion for chamber music and duo-piano works. My fascination with movement and music was cemented by working as Principal Accompanist for Alaska Dance Theatre, where dance provided constant inspirations for conveying character, line and emotion. I have been involved with the music community in the Pacific Northwest for many years, and have served on the Boards of the Lake Washington Chapter, Washington State Music Teachers Association, and Overlake Music Club, National Federation of Music Clubs. I've also worked as an adjudicator and master teacher for WSMTA, Music Teachers National Association’s Northwest Division Piano Competitions, NFMC Festivals throughout Washington and Oregon, the Seattle International Piano Festival and the Seattle Ladies Musical Club Frances Walton Competition. Some of the groups I have performed with include the Seattle Jewish Chorale, Chamber Dance Company (UW), Alaska Dance Theatre (Anchorage), and the Anchorage Symphony. |
