2024 - 2025 S T U D I O P O L I C I E S
During the school year, TUITION is divided into 10 equal payments from September through June. These fees cover private lessons, plus piano parties, conferences and extra lessons/rehearsals as necessary before special events. Sheet Music, Recital Fees and Entry Fees will be billed at the end of each semester.
There will be 34 scheduled lessons during the regular school year. If you are unable to attend a class due to illness or a family emergency, makeup credit will be given to take another class during the same semester. Lessons that have been missed or cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will not be made up.
Practice Requirements: work through your entire assignment five or more times every week. Daily improvement is your goal.
PERFORMANCE is an important and rewarding experience for every musician. Student-only Piano Parties are held each month, and there are three Studio Recitals each year. Musical Gift Recitals, presented live at local retirement homes or on video, provide an opportunity for community service as well as performance practice.
Students may choose to play for a variety of Music Events and Evaluations, such as festivals, competitions, and adjudications. Ribbons, trophies, cash prizes and certificates of merit may be earned at these events. The activities are sponsored by groups such as the Music Teachers National Association, National Federation of Music Clubs and Seattle International Piano Festival. Exams are an optional study goal, using the programs of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music or the National Guild of Piano Teachers.
YEARLY PIANO TUNING improves practice sessions for the whole family! For best results, make sure that your tuner is a Registered Piano Technician.
